The Firm's tax practice is integrally involved in supporting and developing the Firm's business and transactional practice and is internationally recognized, drawing clients to the Firm from around the world. The Firm engages in tax planning in connection with mergers, acquisitions, buyouts, restructurings, financings, executive compensation, real estate transactions, licensing and international matters (both inbound and outbound), representing both domestic and non-U.S. companies and individuals. The Firm is extremely active in handling disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and with state and local taxing agencies, both for companies and for individuals, on a wide variety of topics. The Firm also has unusually strong expertise in taxation of transactions in the entertainment industry, in connection with which the Firm represents many of the world's most prominent actors, directors, producers and writers.
